John Lavin is a writer from Philadelphia where he has worked as a public high school teacher and adjunct English professor. He has reported on labor rights as well as published analysis about education ethics for Safe Kids Stories and an array of book reviews and literary publications. He coordinated communications for a labor union and directed a Jesuit center for worker education. He’s also a jazz drummer. He lives in the Manayunk area of Philadelphia where family and friends are the heart of his life. Opium Confessions on a Swing is his first play.
