Alicia Askenase is the author of several books, was a founding co-editor of the literary journal 6ix and director of the Walt Whitman Art Center Literary programs, and taught English as a Second Language in Puerto Rico, Spain, New York, and finally, Philadelphia. Her poetry has appeared in several anthologies: New Works by Philadelphia Poets, and Poems for the Writing: Prompts for Poets, and lit journals, among them, Chain, The World, Feminist Studies, The Manhattanville Review, Paterson Literary Review, and The Painted Bride Quarterly.
