The Moonstone Arts Center Presents
Comedy with Phyllis Voren and Friends
Sidney Gantt, Paul Easton, T.J. Hurley, Phyllis Voren, Oliver Yu and hosted by Sidney Gantt
Paul Easton does comedy in and around Philadelphia. He has hosted at Laughs on Fairmount and was recently a semifinalist in the Philly’s Phunniest contest.
Sidney Gantt’s performances are equal parts Batman and Bugs Bunny as he delivers sharply insightful observational humor and revealing stories of his own social irreverence. He is also the host of the monthly Captain Action Comedy Show.
T.J. Hurley is a part time comic and full time lapse Catholic who lives in Philadelphia. His comedy dreams include telling jokes in front of crowds of up to 20 people and getting free sandwiches once a month. T.J. believes that sad and funny are two sides of the same coin and aims to delight/bum you out with his little stories and routines
Phyllis Voren has entertained U.S. troops in the Arctic Circle; performed in a Ritz Crackers commercial with Andy Griffith; done improv at The Comedy Store in L.A. she was named Philadelphia’s Funniest Jewish Comic at what was then “Funnybones” on South Street. After a 20 year hiatus, she’s back doing what she loves most.
Oliver Yu grew up in Brooklyn, move to Philly for college, developed an unhealthy co-dependent relationship with this city and has never been able to leave. I enjoy milkshakes, coffee, and sandwiches. I’ve been doing standup for a little over a year trying to produce something nourishing on stage because I’m terrible in the kitchen. I recently joined a newly formed Philadelphia based sketch group: ‘Kids With Rickets’
