Teacher Workshop
The Underground Railroad in Philadelphia is one of the high points in Philadelphia’s rich history as a center in the struggle for freedom and equality. From the formation of the Female Anti-Slavery Society in the 1830’s Philadelphians played a major role in the struggle against slavery.
This workshop will explore the Philadelphia Underground Railroad Network through the eyes of the Vigilant and Vigilance committees.
Workshop participants will receive Act 48 credits and a tour of the National Constitution Centers latest exhibit Slavery at Jefferson’s Monticello. Space is limited. For registration and details contact Melvin Garrison: mgarrison20@comcast.net.
