Aba Kiser grew up singing jazz with her father in Washington D.C. and has evolved those traditional sensibilities into a very cool combination of elements; old and new, simple and complex, composed and spontaneous – the delicacy of a blooming flower, the momentum of a slow-moving train. Her unique style blends elements of folk, jazz and hip hop into a performative experience that is completely her own, letting environmental cues inform her on-the-spot lyricism over top of crafted musical structures. She currently lives in a yurt in Port Townsend WA and has aspirations of touring with a new album in 2013. Her current passion project is renovating an old horse trailer into any combination of food cart, performance venue or writers retreat. Stay tuned. You can see her perform at venues around the east coast this November and hear her music online at www.abakiser.com
