Lynn Hoffman & Candace Riggs
Lynn Hoffman has been a merchant seaman, teacher, chef and cab driver. He’s published three novels, The Bachelor’s Cat, Philadelphia Personal and bang-BANG. He’s also written The New Short Course in Wine and The Short Course in Beer. Skyhorse Books just published a second, expanded edition of the beer book. A few years ago, he started writing poetry. In 2011 his poem, The Would-be Lepidopterist was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. His memoir of a funny year with cancer, Radiation Days will be published in March 2014. Most of the time he just loafs and fishes. Other poetry has appeared in Angelic Dynamo, Melusine, gutter eloquence, Off the Coast, Waterways, Abramelin, Referential,The Broad Street Review, Sephyrus and Short, Fast and Deadly.
Candace Riggs is from Central New Jersey. As a recent graduate from Ithaca College with a Bachelors of Science in Outdoor Adventure Leadership, a decision as driven selfishly by passion as writing, Candace turns to Poetry as a creative outlet and as a reminder, she is still good at something. She has competed in New York City, Philadelphia, Chicago, and various train stops in between. Her poems appear on the internet and in thin air. But especially, on request. Candace has just returned from a four month writing expedition through South America with a 4-month-old red Australian Shepard named Karenina, found in Ecuador.
