Sara Graybeal & Crystal Cheatham
Sara Graybeal is a teaching artist, writer, and spoken word performer. She is a member of the Backyard Writers Fiction Workshop, and is the founder of the Poeticians, a group of young activist poets based in the neighborhood of Point Breeze, Philadelphia. She also coaches and mentors the Youth Leadership Council, an ArtWell program for high school poets and artists. Sara has recent and forthcoming poetry and fiction publications with the Head and the Hand Press, Apiary Magazine, Tempered Magazine, and Floating Bridge Review. She is a recent recipient of the Jan-Ai scholarship award for fiction, and in 2013 received a College Board Award for the Teaching of Writing, allowing for the chapbook publication of original poetry written by her students at YouthBuild Charter School. Raised on a vegetable and cattle farm in North Carolina, Sara now lives in Philadelphia.
Crystal Cheatham is a well traveled singer-songwriter with a new album Best Piece of Me available on iTunes. Her range and style encompass folk, jazz, and blues. Having been raised on gospel and spoken word, her original tunes are packed with an emotional story you can’t wait to discover from song to song. Accompanying herself on the acoustic guitar, Crystal’s lyrical play and inventive chord progressions are fun and thought provoking. https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/best-piece-of-me/id808712691
